Greenwood Christian School participates in many recycling programs. Some programs earn money for our school and some reduce costs for our facility. All programs teach our children about being good stewards of our resources and taking care of God's green earth. We have an after school Recycling Club that meets the 3rd Thursday of each month. The children make recycled crafts, help with our Terracycle program efforts, and learn how to reduce, reuse, and recycle. This club is open to all children in grades 3-6.
Paper Retriever Recycling
Paper recycling is one way we reduce trash costs each year. You can drop off paper for recycling in the green and yellow Paper Retriever bin . Please bag all paper in paper sacks not plastic. To find out more about paper recycling, click here.
Another way we earn money is through the Terracycle program. We collect items for the brigades listed below.
We recycle these items everday in our lunchroom and welcome donations from home too! We ask that you please empty drink pouches and remove the straw prior to sending them in to the cafeteria. If you cut them open to empty them, please cut them on the bottom. To access the Terracycle website, click here.
Cartridges for Kids
We recycle most cell phones, inkjet & laser cartridges, laptops, MP3s, PDAs and tablets/eReaders/notebooks. GCS earns about $400 per year for items we send in. For more information about CFK, click here.
